In Summer

Philippians 4:8-9 'Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me — put it into practise. And the God of peace will be with you.'

It’s June. Summer is ahead. We’re counting the days. I have Olaf’s song in my head: ‘Da da, da doo. Bees'll buzz, kids'll blow dandelion fuzz. And I'll be doing whatever snow does… in summer!'

A Word from our Senior Pastor

My hope is that you will agree that there is nothing more exciting than taking time to study the life of Jesus. Whether it’s for the first time or you are quite familiar with it all, Luke challenges us to see it afresh. He longs for us to move from being amazed and astounded to choosing to become a disciple of Jesus. We mustn’t miss some of Luke’s unique emphases, like the presence of God’s Holy Spirit! Describing Jesus as being filled with, led by and empowered through God’s Spirit was a stark reminder that those same words ought to describe all of Jesus’ followers.

Living for Jesus Today

The great news of Jesus is not only the ABC’s of the Christian life but also the A-Z. Hence our mission at Bellevue: Living for Jesus Today. ‘Living’ means it’s an ongoing directive, Monday to Saturday as well as Sunday, applying what we hear on Sunday to live as God’s people and draw others to Him. The little word ‘for’ gives the right focus. Our focus is Jesus. We choose to live under His Lordship and in gratitude and surrender to His undeserved grace. ‘Jesus’ is the Gospel. His forgiveness enables us to live for Him. Endless access to His grace strengthens us to never give up.
