Advent Reader: Mary's Song

Luke 1:46-56

What a song of praise and acknowledgement of God acting throughout all history. Nothing is indeed impossible for Him.

From the wondering virgin girl visited so recently by the angel Gabriel with the incredible announcement that she would become the mother of the Son of God, this magnificent song is recorded.

Young as she was, she seems to have grasped with clarity and spiritual insight that this was a work of God, and to Him and Him alone all praise was due.

‘My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.’

As this Christmas season draws round once again may our focus like Mary be to rejoice in the wonder of God’s plan of salvation through this baby of Bethlehem. To Him be the glory.
